With so many subscribers and a slew of competitors in the streaming game, Disney + is gearing up for another year of highly anticipated new content from Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, and Walt Disney Animation Studios. Here are 10 new series and movies to watch on Disney + in 2021.

WandaVision, starting January 15, 2021
The show that many people will likely watch first in 2021 is WandaVision from Marvel Studios. The series will follow the story of Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) living the quintessential suburban lifestyle. According to the official synopsis, “the series is a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff and Vision – two overpowered beings living idealized suburban lives – begin to suspect that all is not what” it seems.” WandaVision will kick off the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The falcon and the winter soldier, starting March 19, 2021
A little after WandaVision is about to conclude the first season, The falcon and the winter soldier will begin streaming on Disney +. The Marvel Studios series stars Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, who will reprise their roles as Sam Wilson aka The Falcon, and Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier, respectively. “The couple, who reunited in the last moments of Avengers: Endgame, team up on a global adventure that tests their abilities and patience, ”the show’s official synopsis said. The series will run for six episodes and will also star Daniel Brühl as Baron Zemo, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter and Wyatt Russell as John Walker.
Loki, starting in May 2021
Marvel fans have been waiting for the original live-action series based on the evil god Loki since its announcement at Expo D23 in 2019. The wait is almost over because Loki debuts on Disney + in May 2021. The series will follow Loki as he emerges from the shadow of his brother Thor. The timeline of the show is after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Tom Hiddleston will return as Loki, and will be joined by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant.

What if…?, starting summer 2021
Marvel Studios’ first animated series will debut on Disney + summer 2021. The show, according to the official synopsis, “flips the script on the MCU, reinventing famous events from the movies in unexpected ways.” Many of the actors and actresses who star in the live-action Marvel movies and series will reprise their roles as the voices of the animated series.
Ms. Marvel, starting late 2021

A new character will jump from comic book pages and onto the screen when Ms. Marvel debuts in late 2021. The series will feature Kamala Khan, a 16-year-old Pakistani-American growing up in Jersey City. “An excellent student, avid gamer and voracious fan-fiction scribe, she has a special affinity for superheroes, especially Captain Marvel. But Kamala struggles to fit in at home and at school, that is, until she obtains superpowers like the heroes she has always admired. Life is easier with superpowers, right? We read in the official synopsis of Marvel. The series will star Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel.
Hawk Eye, starting end of 2021
Another series announced at Expo D23 2019 was Hawk Eye, which will feature Jeremy Renner as the main character. Over the course of the series, Hawkeye teams up with Kate Bishop, well-known in Marvel comics, and will be played by Hailee Steinfeld.

Star Wars: The Wrong Lot, early 2021
Fans of the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars were featured at The Bad Batch in season seven of the The clone wars. The Bad Batch is a group of elites and experimental clones. The series will follow the group on their journey through the galaxy following the events of the Clone Wars. According to the official synopsis, “The members of Bad Batch – a unique squad of clones who differ genetically from their Clone Army brethren – each possess an exceptional and singular skill that makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew. In the post-Clone War era, they will take on daring mercenary missions as they struggle to stay afloat and find a new purpose. The animated series will be exclusive to Disney +.
Star Wars: The Boba Fett Book, starting in December 2021

During the season two finale of The Mandalorian, Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) were seen in Jabba the Hutt’s palace on Tatooine, followed by a black screen teasing the new Star Wars series live, Boba Fett’s book. The series will take place in the timeline of The Mandalorian and follow the adventures of Fett and Shand.

Pixar Popcorn, starting January 22, 2021
Not much is known about the new Pixar animated series, Pixar Popcorn, coming to Disney + in early 2021. According to the show’s official synopsis, ‘Pixar Animation Studios’ Pixar Popcorn is a collection of mini-shorts featuring Pixar characters in all-new bite-size stories created by the talented animators at Pixar. It’s likely that many fan-favorite characters like Woody and Buzz Lightyear from the Toy story movies, Remy from Ratatouille, and Merida from Courageous will all be presented in new mini shorts.

Raya and the last dragon, will start on March 5, 2021 with Premier Access
Raya and the last dragon is the latest film to go from theatrical-only release to theatrical release and Disney + Premier Access. The film will take viewers on a journey into the fantastic world of Kumandra, where humans and dragons lived in harmony. “Today, 500 years later, that same evil has returned and it is up to a lone warrior, Raya, to find the last legendary dragon to restore the fractured earth and its divided people. However, throughout her journey, she will learn that it will take more than a dragon to save the world – it will also take trust and teamwork, ”according to the synopsis. Raya will be played by Kelly Marie Tran and Awkwafina will play a dragon named Sisu.
