Christmas celebrants in the metropolis of Sekondi-Takoradi have ignored the president’s directive on the operation of beaches, clubs and pubs.

President Akufo-Addo also urged Ghanaians to respect security protocols during the Christmas festivities.

Meanwhile, a visit to some of the hotel entertainment centers revealed something different, as the celebrants observed COVID-19 security protocols, particularly the physical distance protocol.

Ahead of Christmas, Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Executive (MCE) Chief Abdul Mumin-Issah, in an interview with GNA, said the security task force was tasked with arresting recalcitrant residents, who would try to enter the beaches to control the spread. virus during and after the holiday season.
He noted that it was the mandate of security agencies to enforce laws, including COVID-19 restrictions, to ensure full compliance and expressed hope that they would do their job properly.
