Fomena constituency MP Andrews Amoako Asiamah called for the resignation of all New Patriotic Party (NPP) constituency leaders.
The call for the resignation of all the leaders of the Fomena constituency, according to the elected deputy, is in accordance with the conditions he has set to determine whether to join the party or not.
The development calls into play the fate of the NPP to become the majority in parliament as the elected independent MP escalates demands before handing the carpet to the NPP in parliament.
The last condition is the dissolution of all the cadres, because he maintains that “the current crop of cadres of the nuclear power plants in Fomena is corrupt, incompetent and I will not be able to work with such cadres”.
Speaking on Akoma FM’s GhanAkoma morning show on Thursday, December 31, Special aide-elect Seth Oduro described Fomena’s current leadership as failures, explaining that “the leadership has made it clear to us that ‘ they couldn’t work with lawyer Asiamah. even if he passes the carpet at the nuclear power plant, we therefore decided that it is likely that the leaders could sabotage us ”.
“That is why we are calling for their resignation as part of our conditions to join the party and make it a majority in Parliament.”
This appeal follows the resignation of the chairman of the constituency, Akwasi Nti Asamoah, for health reasons.
However, the elected MP is of the opinion that “the resignation of the constituency president is not enough. All the executives who failed in the party must all resign, otherwise our decision to cross the mat will be refused ”.
Meanwhile, Fomena Constituency Secretary Osei Mensah, who has been named as one of the cadres to resign, has refuted the claims of the elected MP.
“As it stands, we, the party leaders, do not recognize the elected deputy as one of our own because, according to the party’s constitution, when you become independent, he ceases to be part of the big NPP,” therefore we will treat its claims with the contempt it deserves.
