Calvary Charismatic Center (CCC) resident pastor Reverend Joshua Obeng has tasked Christians in Ghana to raise a prayer for the judges who will preside over the 2020 election petition filed by the National Democratic Congress to work wisely and in true principles of the rule of law.

“We really need to pray that our courts will continue to hold onto the root of justice and the foundation of justice in our country. What we have to pray for is wisdom for the judges. May God give them wisdom, so when they are seated on the matter, whatever justice is, it will be placed where it’s supposed to lie, ”he said.

The party is also asking for a second round of the elections and a restrictive order preventing President Akufo Addo from running for president-elect.

“Disagreements don’t mean there shouldn’t be peace and as pastors we really have a role to play in making sure that disagreements among Ghanaians, whether NDC or NPP, don’t escalate to the point of where people take up arms against each other. “He warned.

Meanwhile, instead of the usual New Year’s Eve service marked by loud jubilation and dancing, the service at Church Headquarters in Ayigya was held in strict compliance with measures for the prevention and control of COVID-19 infections.

Ivan Heathcote – Smoker from Ultimate News reported that two services were held at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. with no room for the conventional long praise and dancing to announce the 12 p.m. to midnight ticking.

The service hosted senior government officials, including the outgoing Minister of Trade and Industry, Allan Kyeremanteng, as well as the outgoing CEO of the Center for Microfinance and Small Loans (MASLOC) and Nhyieso MP-elect Steven Amoah.
