Woman throws her baby in a well so she can come back with her ex boyfriend | Social

NIGERIA: A 20-year-old mother was arrested in Kaduna for killing her one-year-old daughter. Faith Alhassan threw her child into the well allegedly to allow her to marry her ex-boyfriend who was not ready to accept her with a baby.

Faith, who holds a high school certificate, said she had no idea what happened to her.

Kaduna State Police Command revealed that on December 28, 2020, around 7 a.m., the body of a little girl was found in a well in Gantan village, in the local government area of Kachia.

Police further informed that upon receipt of the report, an investigation was carried out and it was discovered that the mother of the deceased little girl was the culprit, reports The Nation.

According to the police, the culprit traveled to the village of Gantan with his baby daughter to meet her ex-boyfriend named Dolan Yakubu whom she had abandoned years ago.

Police said Faith told them that while she was at her ex-boyfriend’s house her father complained about the baby, so she quietly went into the night to throw the baby in the well.

Speaking to reporters at the headquarters of the Kaduna State Police Command where she is currently under investigation, she denied killing her daughter because she wanted to marry her ex-boyfriend.

The young woman, who said she was staying with her grandmother, also revealed that she did not know the whereabouts of her deceased daughter’s father.

When asked why she was in command of the police, she replied: “I am here because of my daughter, whom I threw in the well and she died. I don’t know what caught me when I performed the act ”.

When asked if it was because she wanted to marry her ex-boyfriend that she had killed her daughter, she replied in tears: “I didn’t kill her because I want to get married, I just don’t know what entered me, I’m not happy for doing it. ”

Kaduna State Police Commissioner PC Umar M. Muri said she would be brought to justice following the investigation.
