As the Christian community marked the birth of a new year with church services amid prophetic declarations, others gathered on the beaches dotted along the Ghanaian coastline to enjoy the sea and nature.

During the Ghana News Agency team’s visit to some of the local beaches including Dansoman, Chorkor, Labadi, Nungua, Lloyd and other unofficial entertainment centers dotted near the beaches, revelers were spotted celebrating New Years in different ways.

Scores turn the beaches into a temporal tennis court playing a semblance of table tennis while sometimes rolling in the sand; others have created a mini golf course; scores also especially those who came in groups decided to engage in a game of basketball or football.

GNA also observed this; some local artists have decided to exhibit their sand casting crafts whatever is imaginable or required for a fee.

Horseback riding was also booming as horses were offered for a fee, which mainly attracted women.

Although people have recently resorted to taking pictures with their cellphones, some frequent photographers have been observed parading the beaches asking to capture memorable moments of party animals at a minimum price.

Food, drinks, musical performances, acrobatic shows and swimming greeted all who enter the beaches; while the melodious sound of the sea flowing through the waves offers the beaches the perfect place to have fun.

In accordance with the new standard, COVID-19 protocol messages have been planted at the entrance of these spots to remind all who enter of the need to adhere to security measures while rejoicing.

Security personnel were also seen parading to ensure the safety of vacationers.
