‘Power Rangers’ library set to leave Netflix in February 2021

Bad news for Power rangers fans because the majority of the franchise’s available Netflix TV series are currently slated to leave Netflix on February 1, 2021. That’s hundreds of hours of content potentially to leave, but all is potentially not lost as we’ll explore below. below.

Before getting into the nitty-gritty of licensing rights, let’s first take a look at which titles currently have removal dates (not all Power rangers title at time of publication).

List of Power Rangers titles leaving Netflix on February 1, 2021

This list covers Netflix USA and UK. Other regions may vary, but it seems it is the worldwide rights that need to be removed.

This means that, according to our calculations, 722 episodes of Power Rangers are expected to leave Netflix. Each episode is approximately 21 minutes long, with the total amount of content remaining at around 10 and a half days.

Power Rangers titles are currently not being removed from Netflix

• Power Rangers Beast Morphers, the newest in the franchise, receives regular updates on Netflix. Season 1 hit Netflix in October 2019 and season 2 followed in October 2020.

So what is going on here? Officially, Netflix did not include the Power rangers library in its release list for the end of January (which includes the February 1 moves) and dates didn’t start appearing until January 2. No announcements have come from Hasbro, Saban Entertainment, or Netflix on the moves although we have contacted.

While the license fees for Power rangers are pretty muddy, we think Saban Entertainment is the one distributing the show despite the fact that Fox, ABC, and Nickelodeon have all aired the series in the past.

At this time, no new streaming house has been announced for Power rangers but we’ll keep this post updated as we learn new information. Some have speculated that Paramount + could be the recipient, but frankly, everyone is assuming that at the moment.

It is also worth noting the next Power rangers series, Dino Fury has Netflix listed as one of the distributors although Entertainment One does distribute it.
