Talk to Citi News, Mr. Amaliba explained that protests and election petitions are two separate issues that must be distinguished.

“Protests are part of our democratic process. Protests are allowed under the Constitution. Just because we are in court does not mean that our right to protest is restricted. The protests aim to draw public attention to the abuses that took place during the elections in which some of our members were shot; some have been mutilated and yet the state has taken no action. ”

“The protests therefore aim to demand the prosecution of the officers responsible for the murder. It’s different from the case in court. The court case does not deal with the atrocities that took place. We must therefore distinguish the two and understand that one is in pursuit of the results of the elections to the Supreme Court and the other to justice for those who have been killed, ”he explained.

Mahama also said the party would not stop organizing protests against the EC.

He insists on NDC will use demonstrations “Demand respect for the rule of law and protection of the life and property of the good people of Ghana”.

According to him, going to court does not prevent the party from organizing protests against the declared results.

“The Democratic National Congress has decided to take the Supreme Court to challenge the results of the rigged elections on December 7.
