President Akufo-Addo will address the nation tonight on the steps his administration has taken to deal with the coronavirus pandemic in Ghana.
His 21st televised speech follows a similar speech on Wednesday, December 20, 2020.
In the latest update, the President revealed that the country had recorded some 53,653 cases of Covid-19 with 52,331 recoveries and 331 deaths, leaving 991 active cases.
While continuing to ease some restrictions put in place, the president also announced that the country’s borders by sea and land would remain closed.
He also urged citizens to strictly adhere to all Covid-19 protocols as the government works to obtain the Covid-19 vaccine.
Meanwhile, in his speech tonight, President Akufo-Addo is expected to discuss the reopening of schools across the country in mid-January.
He will also have to give more details on the Covid-19 vaccine and when the country will receive its first supply.
