“Our children must go to school, but in safety, and we are convinced that under the current circumstances it is safe to reopen our schools,” he said in his 21st address to the nation on measures taken by the government to ease restrictions. .

The high schools (SHS) will also reopen after January 15.

President Akufo-Addo revealed that the SHS Formula 2 and 3 students will return to school on January 18.

SHS1 and SHS3 students will no longer be on a dual-track system, revealed President Akufo-Addo.

This is due to the expansion of infrastructure in the various secondary schools, he added.

University students, however, will start the school year early. The president announced that they were to return to school on Saturday January 9.

The reopening of schools comes nine months after the president ordered all educational institutions to close on March 15, 2020.
