The boss of the Free Zones Council, Micheal Baafi, resigns

Member of Parliament (MP) elected for New Juaben South, Michael Okyere Baafi has resigned as CEO of the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA).

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo appointed in January 2017, then Head of Sales and Marketing at Phoenix Insurance Company Limited, a limited liability insurance company in Ghana, as CEO of GFZA.

Following his election as an MP after defeating incumbent President Dr Mark Assibey-Yeboah in the NPP parliamentary primaries, he formally resigned to allow him to be sworn in among the 275 lawmakers of the eight lawmakers.

He has since met with the staff and management of the Ghana Free Zones Authority, and bid them farewell, to appreciate their contributions to his successful tenure in GFZA.

Okyere Baafi has been praised for transforming GFZA, positioning it on an enviable pedestal attracting more foreign direct investment.

He holds an MBA in Marketing and Business Strategy from the University of Ghana and a Bachelor of Education (Honors) from the University of Cape Coast, and is also a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, United Kingdom. – United with over 10 years of experience. in insurance marketing.
