Juaboso Constituency MP (MP) Hon Kwabena Mintah Akandoh said his fellow MP Ursula Owusu-Ekuful was too old for him.
Hon Akandoh, who also serves as a ranking member on the Health Committee, made the remarks after visuals of Ursula Owusu were posted online while sitting on her lap in parliament as elected MPs prepared to dissolve the seventh parliament before the inauguration of the eighth parliament.
Responding to claims he was enjoying the moment as the MP-elect for Ablekuma West constituency sat on his lap, Hon Akandoh told Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia host Kwame Nkrumah Tikese that on a lighter note, he was a young man who prefers a young woman, pointing out that Hon Ursula Owusu will soon reach menopause.

“You know, Ursula Owusu is very old and will be going through menopause soon, and I’m younger, so I didn’t feel anything from her” he said jokingly.
The incident between the two elected MPs came after elected MPs from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) sat on the majority side of the chamber as both sides of the chamber prepared to dissolve the seventh parliament.
Hon. Mintah Akandoh explained that Ursula Owusu returned to sit on her lap after she left and returned as he and his fellow NDC MPs sat in the majority seats on the right side of parliament.
The Juaboso constituency MP noted, however, that Parliament had not yet determined the positions of MPs elected at the time, but Ursula Owusu-Ekuful insisted on sitting in the seat, which had previously been occupied by him.
