The snake was then removed from its home by one of the charity’s animal rescuers.

Harry shared the incident on his Instagram Story, as he explained that the snake was ‘like yellow with a sort of black almost tiger vibe’.

Speaking later, Harry, who has played Corrie since 2016, said: ‘I had just brushed my teeth and saw what looked like a snakehead behind the wall at the back of the toilet.

“ I didn’t take it at first, then I looked again and realized what I had actually seen, so I left the bathroom quickly and closed the door.

‘We came home and watched the snake creep over the top of the toilet and sat in the seat looking at each other. ”

Harry and his girlfriend Ellie Isaac left the room before returning later to find that the snake appeared to be gone.

They then contacted the RSPCA who sent animal rescuer Sonia Hulme to their home, who located the snake behind the heater in the bathroom.

She said: ‘She was quite fiery and really didn’t want to come off the radiator – so I managed to unscrew the top part and falling forward Harry grabbed the radiator and managed to hold on the snake’s tail using a pillowcase covering my hands which I managed to put it safely.

“ I thought it was quite appropriate that this royal python had been found on the throne – and since she is a woman, we thought it would be appropriate to call her Lulu. ”

The escaped snake is believed to have belonged to the former owner of the Visinoni home, who died a few months ago, the RSPCA said.

Sonia added: ‘We think she escaped months ago and probably lived in the wall cavity – but luckily snakes can often survive with long intervals between meals.

“She’s in great shape and is certainly feeding well now.
