President Akufo-Addo made a humble appeal to Ghanaians to unite to defend the development of their country.
“To my fellow Ghanaians, I invite all of you to join in the exciting endeavor of developing our country,” he said during his inaugural address as President on Thursday.
According to him, Ghana has immortal chances and ideas to make the nation a great nation.
But these can only be achieved when there is love among Ghanaians, noted President Akufo-Addo.
“The opportunities are endless if we stick together. We must leave a legacy of achievements and realities for our children and their children, ”he added.
The President also promised to work with the newly elected Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, on the governance of the country.
“I am convinced that we will both be guided in our relations by the supreme interest of our people to ensure good governance in the organization of the affairs of state.
“I want to assure you of my wholehearted determination to work with you to advance the peace, progress and prosperity of the Ghanaian people,” he explained.
