A young Ghanaian woman, Juliet Obu, has met her untimely death under the most bizarre circumstances.
Obu, a 19-year-old twin residing in Doryumu in the Greater Accra region, was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend after a brawl over the phone.
According to the twin sister, the deceased recently received a new phone which is a Tecno Camon 15 which sparked a confrontation between her and her boyfriend.
It was said that the boy who was only identified as Shatta was not happy with the girl’s new phone because he suspected that it had been bought for her by someone else.
In the ensuing confrontation between the two lovers, the boy picked up the phone and smashed it to the ground.
After intervention by the employer of the deceased, the guy agreed to replace the phone he had damaged.
In an interview with Adom FM on Tuesday, January 12, 2020, the deceased’s twin said she spoke to her sister a few hours before her murder.
According to her, the deceased told her that the boyfriend brought the new phone and also revealed that she [deceased] wanted to break up with Shatta.
In the evening, continued the bereaved sister, the deceased received a call asking her to come out.
Even though she resisted for a while, she decided to go when the person on the other end asked for water to drink.
The deceased, shortly after her last phone call, was found in a pool of blood with her throat slit and other parts of her body severed.
The boyfriend who stays in Afienya, a nearby town, has since been on the run and is being pursued by police.
