Former deputy chiefs of staff Francis Asenso-Boakye and Samuel Abdulai Jinapor were presumed to be the ministers of works and housing and of land and natural resources, respectively.

In a mynewsgh report seen by GhanaWeb, the two former deputy chiefs of staff who currently represent the constituencies of Bantama and Damongo respectively in Parliament, are on the list of nominees of ministers that President Nana Akufo-Addo will submit in Parliament on Friday January. 15, for the usual verification process.

“Following their election as deputies, the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, appointed Asenso-Boakye as minister-designate of public works and housing to replace Samuel Atta Akyea, who is reassigned,” mynewsgh wrote. “Abu Jinapor, on the other hand, is heading to the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources as the substantive minister. Insiders say the president intends to reward them for their years of loyalty to him.

Meanwhile, the website reports that some of the former ministers who served in the president’s first term will be reassigned as heads of different ministries.

Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the former Minister of Education will be reassigned to the Ministry of Energy while his deputy, Dr Yaw Adutwum, will be promoted to the post of Minister of Education.
