Barcelona advanced to the Spanish Super Cup final after beating Real Sociedad 3-2 in a penalty shoot-out after a 1-1 draw after extra time.

The Catalans came into Wednesday’s semi-final in Cordoba without the services of captain Lionel Messi, who was ruled out due to an undisclosed injury that defeated him in last week’s league win over Granada.

But The truth tied the deal in the 51st minute when VAR confirmed the ball had hit De Jong’s arm on a cross in the box, with Mikel Oyarzabal converting the successful kick from place.
