Ghana Medical Association (GMA) president Dr Frank Ankobea has denied reports he confirmed the possibility of another lockdown following the outbreak of active COVID-19 cases.

Today’s edition of the Chronicle newspaper titled “Full Lockdown Imminent – GMA Prez” said that “healthcare workers were increasingly concerned about the cases, insisting a lockdown would be the ultimate solution if all measures fail “, attributing it to Dr Ankobea.

However, in an interview with Peace FM’s morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, the president of GMA denied making such claims, saying: “The cases are indeed increasing, but I never said it would lead to a total lockdown. That’s not what I said. I’m only saying education is important. Also, it’s not our job to put in place a lockdown, I wouldn’t even suggest it “
