The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) calls on the government to urgently step up contact tracing and coronavirus testing amid a growing number of positive cases.
Although the country has seen great success in tackling the global pandemic with the number of active cases falling below 400 in the last months of 2020, there has been a sharp increase this month.
As of Thursday, January 14, 2021, the number of active cases of Covid-19 stood at 1,404 with up to 175 new cases.
In a press release from the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), he calls on all Ghanaians and well-meaning organizations to care about adhering to safety protocols.
The Association, by way of recommendation, wants the government to step up Covid-19 testing and contact tracing to help fight the crisis.
“GMA calls for urgent intensification of Covid-19 testing and contact tracing for all positive cases, as well as strict isolation and management of all those infected to help break the chain of transmission” , said part of a press release from the GMA. Thursday.
