GES ensures public safety from COVID-19 before schools reopen

The Ghana Education Service (GES) reports that all necessary measures have been put in place before the official reopening of basic schools on Monday, January 18, 2021, for effective teaching and learning.

The Service, in a statement issued in Accra and signed by Ms. Cassandra Twum Ampofo, head of the public relations unit, therefore urged students, parents, teachers and the public not to panic.

He said academic work would begin on Tuesday, January 19, 2021.

The statement stipulated that all schools should use Mondays to tidy classrooms and school environments for academic work.

“In light of this, management would like to inform all stakeholders that the annual event titled ‘My first day at school’, which welcomes children entering school for the first time, will be held in all districts and the regional directorate of education on Tuesday, January 19. 2021.

“Let’s go back to school for safe learning,” the statement added.
