PARIS (Reuters) – Canada Alimentation Couche-Tard and French retailer Carrefour SA plan to discuss industrial and operational partnerships, BFM TV reported on Saturday, after the companies abandoned buyout negotiations this week.
Citing information acquired at the end of a meeting of the board of directors of Carrefour on Saturday, the television channel indicated that the two companies had decided to work together on the basis of “industrial cooperation”.
He said it could allow them to bypass a French government veto that ended the planned Couche-Tard buyout for € 16.2 billion ($ 19.6 billion).
