Jamie Carragher gives his opinion on the future of Mohamed Salah

Jamie Carragher has his own thoughts on the future of Mohamed Salah. There have been discussions around the possibility of the Egyptian leaving Liverpool.

Jamie Carragher is not concerned that Mohamed Salah potentially has a future away from Liverpool. Things just don’t add up in her mind.

“I think the current situation – financially and his age – means the clubs don’t have that kind of money going for him,” he said, according to the Mirror.

“You talk about over £ 100million and I think Real Madrid and Barcelona would consider [Kylian] Mbappe or [Erling] Haaland or even [Sadio] Mane is ahead of Salah now because of his age.

“These two clubs are not full of money and his contract still has time to run at Liverpool.

“So, as a Liverpool fan, I’m not afraid that he is leaving soon.”

What RTK has to say

Well, Mane is the same age as Salah but we see Carragher’s point here. Salah is just not the same kind of investment it was a few years ago.

Anyone signing him now will only have a few years with his best, especially since Salah is a player who relies on his pace. This rhythm might start to fade soon and suddenly it’s not as good.

Not that Salah would be a terrible player just because he’s a little slower. But a 100 million pounds? We are not sure.

In fact, Liverpool themselves will likely consider replacing him themselves over the next few years. Potentially with the players mentioned by Carragher.

But the overall point here is that Liverpool have all the cards. If they want to sell Salah, they probably can. But his long-term contract, combined with his age, means no one is forcing a transfer that Liverpool don’t want.
