Parliament is set to approve its first round of committees on Tuesday as MPs settle for real business at 2 p.m.
The House is expected to approve a 20-member selection committee chaired by the president who will determine which MP should sit on which committee.
The House is also expected to prioritize approval by the nominations committee so that it can soon begin work on approving President Akufo-Addo’s list of ministerial candidates soon to be released.
Meanwhile, James Klutse Avedzi, deputy leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) caucus, said that with 137 to 137 seats for both, the chair of the New Patriotic Party committees must be shared equally.

But NPP caucus deputy leader Alexander Afenyo Markins says President Alban Bagbin’s statement that the NPP and the independent MP constitute a majority parliamentary group gives them the upper hand.
