Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin has ordered all members of parliament to take the mandatory COVID-19 test to avoid infections in parliament.

It comes after some notable people, including the National Security Coordinator Mr. Joshua Kyeremeh, died of the disease a few days ago.

“All Members of Parliament are therefore urged to avail themselves of this important medical screening exercise planned as follows – from Wednesday 20 to Friday 22 January 2021. COVID-19 is real and deadly, ultimately if we find that a member or some members did not go through the selection, we will advise us on the procedure to follow.

As of January 20, 2021, active cases of coronavirus in Ghana stood at 2,174.

Out of a total of 58,431 confirmed cases, some 55,899 people have recovered or have been released.
