IMO State Governor and Coordinator of the Congress of All Progressives, APC, Southeast Reconciliation Senator Hope Uzodinma yesterday told Awka that the governor’s election on November 6, 2021 in the Anambra State is a must-see victory for APC and boasted that the party would mobilize forces, known and unknown, to secure the party’s victory.
Speaking to stakeholders from the Southeast Five States Party, Uzodinma urged Anambra State Party members to put all the bickering and quarrels behind them and form a united front so that they can win the elections. .
He said, “We must have the spirit to give and take to be to accommodate ourselves. I am here to ask all of you to stand together and bury the hatchet. No matter our individual strength, we can only achieve our goal if we come together.
“Our party must be returned to the people and it is the leaders who will lead this process of unification. Anambra is important to APC, but it is unfortunate that the state has been in opposition for so long, which has affected the socio-economic development of the state.
“The Biafran war ended 51 years ago and we now have a united Nigeria. What the Igbo people in Nigeria need is a level playing field to bring out the talents of our people.
“It is also important to know that the only way we can benefit from a united Nigeria is to be part of national politics and that the political mainstream is APC. There is therefore a need to bring Anambra State back to national politics by ensuring that the APC is the dominant party in the state.
“We know everyone who caused the division at Anambra APC and our job is to make everyone understand the need to come together and work as one body, which will help us to strengthen APC before the registration of party members, congresses and the national convention before the November election. Are therefore determined to reconcile everyone ”.
According to Uzodinma, a transparent primary would ensure that those who lose would support the winner, knowing that in a united CPA there would be room to accommodate all gladiators.
He also assured the people that the party does not have an anointed candidate for the governor’s election, adding that it is the delegates who will determine who will carry the party flag for the election.
In his speech, former Senate Speaker Chief Ken Nnamani said that while Anambra excelled in commerce and industry, he had not done well in terms of national politics.
“It is important that our people participate actively in national politics because if we are not part of the central government, our people will continue to lose,” he said.
Among the participants of the stakeholder meeting were the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonna Onu, the Minister of State for Education, Chief Emeka Nwajiuba, the Minister of State for the Environment, Sharon Ikeazor, Minister of Labor and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, Minister of State for Mines and Steel, Dr Uche Oga, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Director General of the National Inland Water Ways Authority, Chief George Moghalu, all the candidates for the post of party governor for the November elections, among others.
