A Catholic Requiem Mass was held at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit for the late Jerry John Rawlings as part of his final funeral rites.
The event saw a rally of members of the two main political parties; the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress, including former President John Dramani Mahama and Speaker of Parliament Alban Sumana Bagbin.
President Akufo-Addo and his Vice-President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, as well as their spouses were also present; First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo and Second Lady Samira Bawumia.
As planned, Mr. Rawlings will be refitted on Monday January 25 and Tuesday January 26 at the Accra International Conference Center for various interest groups and members of the public to have the opportunity to pay their final respects. . .
