Chilean premier league club Colo-Colo have decided striker Ivan Morales should live at the club’s facilities for the remainder of the campaign to avoid having more problems with his neighbors.
The outfit’s drastic decision comes after Morales was reported to authorities by neighbors to systematically break the lockout rules. They said he had parties where alcohol was consumed.

The gatherings were more crowded than allowed, with loud music playing in the early hours of the morning and fireworks lit from her balcony.
A club statement said: “Considering the complaints filed for the behavior of Ivan Morales at his home and having discovered the details of the facts, we have decided that the player will live at Casa Alba until the end of the season. That way, we will guarantee the discipline necessary for its sporting performances. “
Morales will now live at “Casa Alba”, a complex the club opened in 2008 where the club’s promising youngsters reside.
Colo-Colo is disappointed with Morales’s behavior.
“We would like to point out that the conduct described by the neighbors is not acceptable for any young person, and even less for a high level athlete of our club,” the statement added.
However, the club will not comment on the case that has been opened against the player in a court in Santiago until a “resolution is given”.
Morales could face a heavy fine and prison sentence from two months to three years if found guilty of endangering public health and safety during a pandemic, in accordance with article 318 of the Chilean penal code.
Morales, who started in Colo Colo’s 2-1 win over Coquimbo Unido on January 23, has scored one goal and made one more in nine league appearances this season.
The forward has a contract with the Santiago-based club until December 2022.
Colo-Colo is fighting to avoid relegation and has four games to go before the regular season ends.
