Young Rock Trailer: A Closer, Funer Look At The Phenomenon Called “ The Rock ”

The trailer for Young Rock, star of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, has been released. The video suggests the NBC show will be an exaggerated version of Johnson’s life. Nonetheless, it looks like a good watch.

The trailer opens with Johnson being interviewed for his next presidential campaign, to be held in 2032. It’s a clear nod to the Hollywood star’s serious consideration of running for the 2020 presidential election.

And of course, there are constant wrestling references because Dwayne Johnson first gained popularity as The Rock wrestling champion. We see the actor lifting some weight, looking older than 15, and boldly but innocently claiming that the struggle is ‘not real’ as a child. Actor Matt Willig also makes an appearance as late wrestling star Andre the Giant. In real life, Johnson’s dad, Rocky Johnson and Andre the Giant, would be close friends.

From relatively humble beginnings to becoming Hollywood’s greatest star, Dwayne Johnson’s journey has certainly been fascinating, and perhaps even a lesson in discipline if you take a closer look. Therefore, it is not surprising that a TV series will be released soon depending on his adventurous life.

Created by Dwayne Johnson and Nahnatchka Khan, Young Rock will premiere on February 16.
