The Anlo Traditional Council had previously speculated that they would not show up at Rawlings’ funeral because the government had not invited them to the ceremony.

However, 2 delegates represented them at the state funeral which took place on Wednesday January 27, 2021.

This happened after the two men approached to lay a wreath after the emcee called on the Anlo Traditional Council to do so.

Anlo State Avadada (Warlord) Togbe Agbesi Awusu II, in an interview with the Chronicle newspaper on Tuesday January 26, 2021, said the Council will also be holding a funeral for the late Jerry John Rawlings.

He explained that before Rawlings disappeared he was a chef in Anlo state with the stool name Togbe Nutifafafia meaning a man of peace.

The date of the funeral has not yet been made public by the Anlo Traditional Council.

The late Jerry John Rawlings died in the intensive care unit at Korle-Bu University Hospital in November last year.

He was also a former statesman and the founder of the largest opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
