Commercial flights to and from Ho Airport will begin in April this year.
According to the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), the first batch of commercial flights to Ho will resume during the Easter holidays.
The GACL said opening the airport would go a long way in relieving stress for passengers who have to travel long hours by bus to reach their destinations, as the duration will be reduced to 30 minutes.
GACL’s head of business development services, Ms. Amma Faake Gadzekpo, said the facility has been ready for a long time and is waiting for the right time and opportunity to fully resume.
She said the opening of the airport will go a long way in improving tourism and business activities and make Ho the “best” in the country.
In view of this, Africa World Airlines (AWA), which provides the flight services, has announced a twice-weekly flight schedule to the airport, at GH ¢ 99.00 one-way.
The $ 25 million Ho Airport was completed in 2016 as a 100-passenger facility, which contains two midsize aircraft at a time.
