Former Minister of Communications in the Mahama administration, Dr Omane Boamah is urging the public not to ignore COVID-19 safety protocols as the country takes steps to procure vaccines.
He said strict adherence to COVID-19 prevention protocols was the country’s best bet to stay free from the disease.
In a Facebook post, the doctor said those relying on the vaccination might be disappointed as the available supply in Africa is very limited and Ghana’s share will not be able to meet the demand of a third of the country’s population.
“The best vaccine against COVID-19 for anyone who lives anywhere, right now, is to stay safe and follow the protocols prescribed by the WHO and the government,” he said.
Dr Omane Boamah said he would not downplay the relevance of vaccines to deal with infections such as COVID-19, he believes the government must embark on an intensive advocacy program to get the message of membership across to what we talk about a lot. preventive protocols.
