A Swedish nurse recently hit a jackpot when she won the chance to watch a 60-movie film festival on her own. Lisa Enroth, beat 12,000 moviegoers around the world to win the completion which will now allow her to watch the Goteborg Film Festival isolated from a lighthouse on an island off the Swedish coast. Amid the pandemic, the prestigious film festival would be shown online instead of regular screenings in theaters.

‘another kind of reality’

Enroth, who is a full-time nurse by Skovde profession, had worked rigorously during the coronavirus pandemic. Speaking to the BBC, the frontline health worker said she hoped to enjoy “being a part of a totally different reality for a week.” His opinion was echoed by festival organizers who stressed that they were special in finding someone who could psychologically and emotionally “benefit” from the film festival.

“We are overwhelmed with all the applications and great interest from all over the world. Out of over 12,000 applicants from over 45 countries, we have now selected one person who has undergone interviews and tests. The chosen one is Lisa, a film enthusiast from Skövde who has worked hard as a frontline emergency nurse in the fight against Covid-19 over the past year. “

“The isolated cinema” on the island of Pater Noster is inaccessible on the very edge of the archipelago in one of the most arid and windswept places in Sweden. Enroth, who told the BBC she had been exhausted by the pandemic, would now spend a week in “total isolation from the outside world”. Without a phone or internet, she would only receive a tablet for limited periods, so that she could record a daily video log. In addition, another person will also be on the island for security reasons and will check in once a day. It had started on January 30 and would end on February 6.
