The appointment of Mauricio Pochettino as the new head coach of Paris Saint-Germain has sparked talks about a meeting with Dele Alli.
The England international has been a key player during Pochettino’s reign at Tottenham Hotspur but has found himself out of favor under Jose Mourinho this season.
And even before the January transfer window opened, it was reported that his first transfer assignment would be to loot his former club for the 24-year-old.
However, the window closed on Monday evening with Alli still in North London.
But hours before the 11pm deadline, Paul Merson and Harry Redknapp suggested Spurs would be a better team with Alli in the camp.
And it seems that the England international agrees.
As spotted by @thespursweb and uploaded to Twitter, Alli “ liked ” the Sky Sports and talkSPORT posts that contained quotes from the aforementioned duo.
This sparked discussions among other Spurs fans.
@jack_thfc_ Said, “If this guy doesn’t have minutes Thursday, then I might be done.”
@ C9_thfc said, “This situation will only get worse and more toxic now that the tax has forced him to stay out for fear of not getting a decent sum before the summer.”
@JohanArdiW said, “Mou out, just outside please.”
@mrmstoney Said: “Play him in the role of creator behind Son. Bale gave it a try and failed miserably. He didn’t look interested at least. When the window closes, it’s a good time to call a truce between Mourinho and Alli because, whether they like it or not, they are stuck with each other. ”

As reported by football.london, one reason Alli isn’t leaving in the January window is due to team issues.
Spurs should have brought in a replacement for Alli on loan, but that was always going to be problematic due to the number of non-local players they currently have on the squad.
Having three more than the 17 foreign players allowed in the Europa League before the exit of Gedson Fernandes and Paulo Gazzaniga, in an ideal world the club would have had to bring in a local player if Alli had been given the green light to move to Paris.
