In a study published in the United States National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health, virtual reality and interactive play technology for obese and diabetic children were further investigated.

The Telemedicine and Advanced Technologies Research Center has developed a number of technologies that may be applicable to the problems of managing obesity and diabetes, the study noted.

He continued, “Virtual reality (VR) technology, interactive games, exergaming games and mobile tools have evolved very rapidly.

“The medical community needs to re-evaluate these technologies in relation to obesity and diabetes.

“Exploring creative ways to use and interconnect existing technologies for the management of obesity and diabetes is a relatively simple and achievable goal.

“The key lies in creativity applied to the task, virtual reality exergaming potentially being the answer to that.”
