Kat Dennings filmed another Marvel project, but it’s not Thor 4

Kat Dennings’ arc in WandaVision won’t be the last we see of Darcy Lewis in the MCU, but fans shouldn’t expect to see her in Thor: Love & Thunder.

In a recent interview, Kat Dennings revealed that she has filmed other projects for Marvel that did not include the upcoming Thor: love and thunder. In 2011, Dennings made his first appearance in the MCU as Darcy Lewis, assistant to astrophysicist Dr. Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), in the original Thor. As Dennings reprized his role in Thor: The Dark World, she was absent Avengers movies. However, her character recently reappeared in WandaVision.

In the fourth episode of WandaVision, Darcy Lewis returned after being recruited by SWORD, the Sensitive Weapons Observation and Response Department, to assess the bizarre anomalies occurring in Westview, where Wanda and Vision currently reside as a married couple. Now a well-respected scientist with a doctorate, Lewis has teamed up with Agent Jimmy Woo (Randall Park) to investigate the puzzling irregularities in the suburban town. Lewis’s arrival has raised questions as to whether or not she will be involved in other MCU stories.

Speaking with Additional, Dennings said she was indeed among the Marvel Businesses that have yet to be released: “There are things that I did for Marvel that are coming out that aren’t that … But I probably can’t say.” Although she was unable to provide details on these future “things”, she noted that she would likely not appear in Thor 4.

Although Dennings does not trade an understudy with Chris Hemsworth, his character amplified the reach of WandaVision, serving as an entry point through which viewers can slowly learn about the mysterious objectives of SWORD Over the past few episodes, Lewis has spent much of his time with Agent Woo, who first arrived on the screen in Ant-Man and the Wasp as the FBI officer overseeing the house arrest of Scott Lang (Paul Rudd). Their report thrilled viewers and critics alike, inspiring calls for a Marvel spin-off starring the two in one. X-Files-mystery style where they can explore different extraterrestrial disturbances related to the multiverse.

While Dennings can’t reveal anything about her other possible story arcs in the MCU, her confirmation that she’ll be reprising her role as Lewis is an exciting development. She and Park added a delicious and witty element to WandaVision. The duo reinvigorated the larger intrigue surrounding the apparent glitches in reality taking place in Westview. The sage Lewis and the serious Woo follow each other as narrative foils, working effectively as a comedic duo that adds both lightness and intrigue to the Marvel show. It will be interesting to see what Dennings does with Lewis in her next projects, even if she doesn’t return. Thor: love and thunder.
