The world in time will re-embrace its old state, associated with educational and fun social gatherings at church, schools and other places of interest, regardless of the outbreak and resurgence of COVID-19.
The Right Reverend Professor Joseph MY Edusa-Eyison, Diocesan Bishop of North Accra (NAD) of the Methodist Church of Ghana, said it could be possible, but only if everyone cooperates with the security guidelines established by the World Health Organization.
He said research had shown that events such as COVID-19 that affected almost every region of the globe were not new, but that things were back to normal and newer generations never got it. known until the epidemic of the new coronavirus.
He made the comment in a media interview during the inauguration of the Church’s Ashongman Circuit at the Right Reverend KA Dickson Memorial Society, Ashongman Estates on Saturday.
“COVID-19, I believe, is a phase of passion. History tells us that years ago some of these things happened and we are going to get over them and get back to our normal situation as it was. I firmly believe that if we follow exactly what God wants us to follow through health workers, teachers and journalists, among others, we will be fine.
Rt. Reverend Edusa-Eyison advised the public, especially those still in doubt about the existence of COVID-19, to access the situation in the country and beyond, to research and listen the news thoroughly and they’ll know it’s real.
“When you travel to other parts of the country, you realize that people don’t wear masks and some think it’s the rich man’s disease, but it’s everyone’s disease. Maybe some people have strong immune systems and so for them it doesn’t matter what they do, but not everyone is everyone.
“This disease is real and let’s be careful. Let us spread the good news about wearing masks, washing hands with soap under running water, observing social distances and using hand sanitizers, among others, ”he advised.
The Bishop of NAD said he was pleased with the way the protocols were widely observed in many churches, especially the Methodist Church, and encouraged them to maintain it.
Speaking about the government’s recent announcement to ban wedding receptions, he said the move was reasonable, as masks and social distancing observation were often not common at wedding receptions.
He believed that this measure would also reduce the costs incurred by the couple for the organization of the wedding ceremonies.
“The young people even pray that this one will be there forever. Let’s go to weddings and after that you take your food packages and go, ”he added.
The Right Reverend Paul Kwaku Ntiri Adu Jnr, the Minister Superintendent of the Ashongman Circuit, has pledged to lead the circuit and its companies on the right track amid COVID-19.
With the help of all the leaders and members, he said he would adopt appropriate evangelistic and humanitarian mechanisms to maintain and win more souls in the Methodist Church and for the kingdom of God.
