As the DC Universe superhero community finds itself pushed to the brink of the future state, Barry Allen may be the key to saving the world.

Alternate Future State timelines present a grim omen of what the DC Universe could become as it heads into the next Infinite Frontier era. The Flash family and the Teen Titans have been hit particularly hard by the cataclysmic upheaval that befell the DCU, leaving many superheroes dead and with familiar faces following more sinister paths in the immediate fallout.
And as one final tragedy strikes Barry Allen and the surviving Scarlet Speedsters, the world’s fastest man may inadvertently be the key to saving the DCU’s possible future with one key piece: his flash ring.

The Future State had once again corrupted Wally West, this time possessed by the famine soul of the Four Horsemen of Apokolips. Now a monstrous take on the superhero that he was, Wally immediately launches out killing Jay Garrick and several Titans he faces in Japan. A desperate Barry arms himself heavily with the weapons and gadgets of his greatest allies and enemies to bring down his former protege once and for all. Barry’s confrontation with the possessed Barry is revealed to be an elaborate ruse to force him to consume the remaining amount of Speed Force and effectively push him out of the material world for good, continuing as a living ghost.
In the empty battlefield where Barry made his own ultimate sacrifice, Cybeast, the fused Beast Boy and Cyborg of the Future State Teen Titans arrive to uncover Barry’s dark fate. However, all hope does not seem lost, as Cybeast discovers Barry’s old Flash Ring at the scene, left behind as Barry’s physical form dissipates. Forged from the melted wedding rings of Barry’s parents, the ring has been used to hold Barry’s Flash costume for decades. Cybeast notes that the ring is loaded with data from Barry’s studies following Wally’s bribery, coupled with his own observations of the latest Fastest Man Alive run, which could save the world.
The Titans had endured a terrible tragedy after creating their own academy to train the next generation of superheroes. Dial H’s comments for Hero Dial devastated Titans Island and much of New York City with the explosion that followed, resulting in the deaths of dozens of heroes. Since then, the Titans have regrouped and sought ways to rebuild themselves after their devastating losses. And while it’s unclear exactly what kind of information Cybeast may have gleaned from observing Barry Allen’s latest fight and the data stored in his ring, it definitely looks valuable as the fight to save the future continues. .
Future State has put the entire DC Universe superhero community on the defensive as tragedy after tragedy strikes them, resulting in heavy losses. While Barry Allen appears to have paid the ultimate price for preventing a newly corrupted Wally West from continuing to target his fellow heroes, his heroic legacy will endure thanks to his signature ring as those who remain scramble to save their world from a new one. tragedy. Barry is one of DCU’s foremost criminal scientists, carrying out obsessive research for years after Wally’s corruption.
