George Owusu, also known as Nana Yaw, who was arrested for attempting to smuggle narcotics into Ankaful Maximum prison last month, is said to spend more days in custody after failing to meet prison conditions out on bail imposed by a Cape Coast circuit court.

Owusu had tried to convince a prison officer to smuggle 15 plates of suspected narcotics into Ankaful Maximum prisons.
His plea was unsuccessful and will reappear in court on Tuesday March 2 to be heard.
Chief Detective Inspector Theresa Agbavor said the complainant was a prison officer from Ankaful Maximum prisons.
She said that in December last year, Owusu contacted the prison director to convince him to smuggle the substance into the prison yard to be given to a Kwasi Boakye, an inmate serving a sentence. 45 years in prison.
She said the officer then disclosed the deal to prison authorities.
On Saturday January 9, Owusu called the officer to meet him for the substance and he was arrested at a guesthouse in Abiee, a community near Ankaful.
