One of Cape Coast’s top dancehall artists named Emmanuel Aikins, 28, known in music circles as ‘Unruly Crank’ succumbed to his untimely death after being stabbed by his colleague dancehall artist, Bright Ellis, known in music circles as ‘Shadow’. .
What started on social media turned physical Sunday in Victoria Park at around 3:00 p.m. when ‘Shadow’ fans met the one from ‘Unruly Crank’ and verbally attacked each other over who is Cape Coast Dancehall’s best performer.
Information gathered by Kasapa News Yaw Boagyan indicates that the argument turned into a physical brawl in which ‘Unruly Crank’ allegedly pulled out a cutlass but was grabbed by ‘Shadow’ and stabbed him neck, and fled after committing the crime. It has not been found so far.
PRO Central Regional Police Deputy, Sgt. Evans Entie in an interview confirmed the incident adding that the deceased was rushed to Cape Coast Metropolitan Hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The suspect, who also suffered a cut to his left hand, reported to the police station against the deceased and received a police medical report form to go to hospital for treatment, but was later arrested in Cape Coast Metropolitan Hospital and inmate.
The body was taken to the Bakaano mortuary for an autopsy while police opened an investigation into the case.
