Matt James’ season of The single person was filled with fighting, intimidation and the spread of rumors, and he made it clear that he doesn’t tolerate any of it. Matt sent MJ home after an emotional two-way date once he learned from Jessenia that she had been involved in the “OG vs. Rookie” fights in the house. “The last thing we should do to each other is bring each other down,” Matt explained, adding that it was a “disappointment” to find out that MJ had been involved in the infighting.
“My heart is so big and I’m trying to show it to you,” MJ told Matt, implying that the whole situation was something Jessenia had created out of meanness. “The fact that Jessenia said I was creating this rift in the house as I tried to bring everyone together… I am mentally and emotionally exhausted. While he admitted to being “in conflict”, because he knew MJ was a “good person”, Matt finally realized that he couldn’t trust her and knew that she and Jessenia couldn’t. not continue to stay together in the house. She sabotaged me,” MJ told cameras as she walked away from the station. “It sucks. Jessenia was little, and I hope Matt understands that soon.”
While his season may have become known for its share of toxic, dramatic, and controversial contestants, Matt has made it clear on and offscreen that he will not tolerate bullying in seeking his affection. “When this information was communicated to me about what was going on in the house, this type of name-calling and lies and blatant rumors is unacceptable,” he said. “I never imagined I was going to face things like I did… with adult women,” Matt said of the drama. “But whatever you have to do is make sure these women are comfortable and you can get the most of them and they can get the best of me.”
