A member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) communications team, Nana Kofi Ntiamoah reiterated that Asawase MP Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka should be sacked for allegations he made against a court judge supreme.

Just a month ago, lawmakers said a Ghana Supreme Court judge tried to bribe an NDC MP before voting for a speaker in the 8th legislature.

Asawase MP Mubarak Muntaka presented a formal written retraction and apology to the Supreme Court for alleged bribery remarks made against an anonymous member of the judiciary.

The lawmaker and chief whip of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) caucus in Parliament previously accused a Supreme Court judge of trying to influence the outcome of the presidential election in the 8th Legislature.

According to Kofi Ntiamoah, the apologies of the legislator should not be accepted, so he should be called upon to name the person who attempted to pay the bribe, so he should be dismissed from Parliament.

“I don’t understand why a member has to make this frivolous statement and be free. I beg the hierarchy of Parliament to remove him if he fails to establish the fact, ” Nana Kofi Ntiamoah told Kwaku Dawuro exclusively on “ Medo Ghana ” on Accra-based Kingdom FM 107.7.

“I want the Judicial Council to look at this issue and get to the root of the problem. Apologies are not enough, a deputy must be responsible, ”he added.
