Ghana’s active Covid-19 cases have jumped to 6,938, with the death toll reaching 482.
The Ghanaian health service, in its latest report, said 10 more people have died from the virus.
According to reports, 675 new cases have been registered, to which are added 73,003 confirmed cases.
Again, out of the total confirmed cases, 65,583 Ghanaians have recovered.
Meanwhile, Ghana Health Service chief executive Dr Patrick Kuma Aboagye, who spoke on mitigating the spread of Covid-19 in Ghana on Tuesday, said the Greater Accra region remains the largest hot spot for Covid-19 cases recorded nationwide.
According to him, 600 to 700 cases on average are recorded, or 84.8% of new cases reported.
However, he admits that the correct use of the face mask as part of Covid-19 security protocols has improved in the capital.
Ashanti region recorded 99 new cases, eastern region with 52 new cases, Volta region recorded 50 new cases, western region also reported 35 new cases.
The Bono region recorded 13 new cases of Covid-19 while the central and western northern region recorded 10 and 8 new cases respectively.
Eight of the 16 regions have not reported any cases of Covid-19 according to the Ghana Health Service as of February 6.
They include Ahafo, Bono East, North East, Northern, Oti, Savannah, Upper East, and Upper West Region.
