We have another first look at Jared Leto’s version of the Joker, which will appear in Zack Snyder’s next version of “Justice League”.
What is happening?
Vanity Fair recently detailed what to expect from the Joker, who will return in new “Justice League” movie from director Zack Snyder, who will finally share his “Snyder Cut” with the world on March 18.
The context
Snyder was the original director of “Justice League” before leaving to deal with family tragedy, as I wrote for the Deseret News. Joss Whedon took over and released his version of the film. Snyder’s version was never released. But fans have been clamoring for it to be shared for years. HBO Max only recently gave Snyder the green light to release his version, as I wrote for Deseret News.
A look at the Joker
The Joker was not a part of Snyder’s original film version. But when Snyder got the chance to finish his version of the film and release it on HBO Max, he decided to add Joker to the project, according to Vanity Fair.
- “The Joker is really the only thing I thought about in retrospect,” Snyder told Vanity Fair. “But I will say that I always intended to bring Joker to this world.”
Snyder sent photos to Vanity Fair showing the Joker wearing a hospital gown and surgical mask. He is also seen wearing a bulletproof vest.
- “Gone are the face tattoos and slicked back emerald hairstyle from that movie, replaced with a face that looks like a creature that crawled out of the basement of a long-abandoned madhouse. Maybe he did, ”according to Vanity Fair.
Earlier in February, Snyder shared a photo on Vero that shared a fuzzy first look at the movie version of the Joker, as I wrote for the Deseret News.
- This photo showed a Joker who didn’t look much like Jared Leto’s Joker from “Suicide Squad.” Instead, he looked more like Heath Ledger’s Joker seen in Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight” trilogy.
