A funny note was placed in a church offering box by a devotee in Nigeria who was not satisfied that the pastor had a throw.

According to the devotee who refused to deposit money in the offering box, the pastor already has a roll when he or she only has a Toyota.

The note read:

“You already have a jet. I only have one Toyota. I’m not giving you a shishi.”

Whoever wrote the note expressed the views of some Nigerian devotees who believe that it is better to keep their money or donation to the less privileged instead of paying church offerings and tithes.

The flamboyant lifestyle of pastors around the world is the source of such a state of mind.

Reacting to the funny note, a Facebook user identified as Sam Simon wrote:

“This is his personal opinion and no penalty for it.”

In a previous report by YEN.com.gh, a pastor of Living Faith Church also known as Winners Chapel, Pastor Afolabi Samuel, was sentenced to 3 years in prison after being convicted of theft.

According to a report seen by YEN.com.gh on Lindaikeji’s blog, Pastor Afolabi Samuel stole $ 90,000 (GH 532,000) and GH 64,000 belonging to church members.

The accountant and treasurer of the church were also brought before judge Mojisola Dada on two counts of conspiracy and theft.

He was charged with conspiring with one of the Blessing Kolawole to embezzle the money for his personal use, in violation of Articles 278, 285 and 490 of Lagos State Penal Code No.11, 2011.

Defense lawyer Rotimi Ogunwuyi pleaded with the court to be lenient as his client had changed his plea from “not guilty” to “guilty”.
