A newborn baby thrown by an unidentified mother was found along a road in the town of Daura, Katsina state, on February 12, 2021.
The child who is a girl was found in a box in Unuguwar Amare, a suburb of Daura town around 1:20 am with a note left where the mother begged anyone who finds the baby to call her “Barira”.
According to a Yawale Musa Kallah Daura, the note revealed that the mother threw out the baby because she could not raise the child on her own as the child’s father abandoned her and their child broke his promise to l ‘marry.
Yawale Musa said the child was sent to the police station and then taken to hospital.

The note reads as follows:
“ASSALAMU ALAIKUM. THE GIFT OF THIS GOD THAT I SAVED THIS BABY IS NOT AN ACCOUNT OF MY LIFE? THIS IS A TRUMP, SOMEBODY DEFEATED ME AND SAID HE WILL TRUST ME. “WITH HIS OWN HAND, AMEN.
