Artist Ryan Stegman gave a preview of his upcoming variant cover for Daredevil, which features Elektra in the title role and sporting a new sai.
Ryan Stegman has released his variant cover for an upcoming issue of Daredevil.
Stegman’s image shows Elektra in her Daredevil costume, brandishing her new weapons. Unlike his traditional sai, the guns have blunt edges and contain a cable similar to Matt Murdock’s billy club. Elektra herself has blood dripping from the corner of her mouth, suggesting that a rather brutal fight has taken place.
Elektra took up the torch from Daredevil by Daredevil # 25, after Matt Murdock surrenders to authorities for a murder he committed. However, she soon had to face Knull’s invasion during the King in black history. Elektra soon found herself fighting with the evil Daredevil Typhoid Mary, who had been possessed by one of Knull’s symbiotes, and tricked the villain into believing that she was dead by slowing her heart rate. With Murdock facing two years in prison, Elektra’s journey as a fearless woman has only just begun.

Stegman is best known as the artist for Venom, and would later join writer Donny Cates for the Absolute carnage and King in black a mini-series from the Cates race. He has also worked on other series for Marvel including Scarlet spider and Amazing Spider-Man.
