According to pre-Covid estimates for the Welsh government, Bow Street station would ‘generate’ 30,000 trips per year and remove nearly 466,000 vehicle miles (750,000 km) from the local road network per year, helping to reduce carbon emissions, traffic jams and parking problems in the nearby town of Aberystwyth.
