Germany, UK deport 22 Ghanaian men for offenses

Germany has reportedly returned 17 Ghanaians to the country.

The deportees were brought back to their country of origin aboard a chartered flight CT3721.

According to the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS), the deportees were received at Kotoka International Airport.

A statement signed by GIS regional public affairs manager, KIA, Barbara Sam, said the deportees are all men between the ages of 21 and 60.

He said they were escorted by 67 police officers, including paramedics from Germany, adding that “they were deported for immigration issues such as the suspension of their entry permits and a illegal stay.

“The 17 who had remained in Germany between three and ten years arrived with 15 of them arriving on travel certificates issued by the Ghanaian Embassy in Berlin, Germany, while the other two on Ghanaian passports.” , according to the press release.

He added that 10 of the deportees are from the Ashanti region, five from the Greater Accra region and one each from the Bono and North regions.

Meanwhile, the United Kingdom (UK) also expelled a total of five Ghanaians.

Recently, Saudi Arabia also expelled around 38 Ghanaians.
