The Viviana Lebenam Foundation donated various items to the children’s ward of the Ho University Hospital.
The items were soft drinks, tissue paper, small napkins, cookies, liquid soaps, bottled water and diapers.
Mr. Thomas Mawuena Malm, Founder and Managing Director of the Foundation, said their gesture was part of the Foundation’s social responsibility and to redeem a request made by the Ward, during his visit to the facility in November 2020.
He believed that their benevolence would bring smiles to children and relieve the relentless pressure on their parents.
Mr. Malm thanked Stadium Gate Mall in Ho for supporting this speech and urged others to follow their example.
Pediatric Nurse Lucky Mary Kutsi, receiving the items on behalf of the Children’s Department, expressed her gratitude to the Foundation and pledged to make good use of the items.
She said the department did not have a pulse oximeter – a device that measures the proportion of oxygenated hemoglobin in the blood in pulsed vessels in addition to a heart monitor.
“Currently we only have one oximeter and heart monitor in the children’s room, which is worrying.”
Ms. Kutsi appealed to governmental and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) for more of them, in particular; medical equipment to help the service run smoothly.
The Viviana Lebenam Foundation was founded to immortalize Mr. Malm’s late wife and its main purpose is to provide care through advocacy, empowerment and education focused on the growth, development and support of children and seniors.
