Memoirs of Priyanka Chopra Jonas Unfinished has been making waves for a while now. And the actor has been busy promoting it. Recently she appeared at The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and she spoke at length about a particular incident. Photos of the actor winning the Miss World crown in 2000 have long been etched in the minds of audiences, as has the hairstyle – a tendril falling across his face. If you’ve read the book before, you’ll know if it was deliberate; a last ditch effort to save things.
She spoke about it on the show, giving the context. “I have this crazy tendril on my face. At that point, I tried to play cool like it was a choice but it really wasn’t. I was trying to curl my hair and there was like, 90 girls backstage, and everyone was moving and getting their hair done and makeup done. I was trying to curl my hair and someone pushed me over. I burned myself and the skin grazed, the actor said.
But the actor had a presence of mind. She resorted to action quickly. “I had like this big mark that I had to hide with a corrector and this big twist. Every time I look at this photo, I say to myself: “The choice of the spin! Really!'”
In her book, she also writes that she was completely taken aback to have won the crown and that her life changed afterwards. In a parallel anecdote, the actor revealed that the first thing his mother asked after all the frenzy was about his studies. Priyanka was barely far from passing her board exam when she won the crown.
